WW1 Medal recipient - J. Hayward
« on: Sunday 25 April 10 09:35 BST (UK) »
I am looking for some help/advice about  tracing the history of the recipient of 3 WW1 Medals that I have, 1914 "Mons" Star with Bar, Victory Medal and British War Medal.

The recipients name is J Hayward, he was a Gunner in the RHA and his service number is 76143, this is all the info I have.

Any help or advice is greatly appreciated,

Thankyou

Hi Chris, and welcome to Rootschat.

I just looked at the Great War Medal rolls to see if there was anything else and all that's shown is what you already have, so I assume you'd already checked those yourself.

At least now you are moved on the Military Boards there are a lot of experts who will be able to help.    Sorry I wasn't able to add anything

Hello Chris,

He actually has two MICs and the one for the Mons Star tells you that he was with "L" Battery, who in turn were part of VII Brigade initially and later, XVI Brigade.
