Welcome to RootsChat.  :)

George Goldfinch, hoop maker of Owslebury, bachelor, aged 24, married Frances Norris spinster of Tichborne, age 25 at Tichborne 15 November 1784, by licence.  The licence allegation was dated 25 Oct 1784.

Can you be a little more specific with regards to the other query?  What would you like to find out, and what details do you already know?

Nothing on the parents as yet. Need to build a 'picture' of George and Frances and surrounds.
I had a look in TNA for a will but nothing there that was obvious.
Wills might well be at the record office in Hampshire. Are u able to get there? I don't see a location for you.

It does seem as if Frances died as the George is a widow at marriage to Elizabeth and his age looks abt right but you do need to check it out....

Might be an idea to post on the Hampshire board for info on Frances death in that area.

There is a book abt the Catholic movement in the Thames Valley and I think some of it is online. Google it and there might be some useful info for you.

There is a burial for a Frances (Francisca) Goldfinch dated 3 July 1808 in the Brambridge RC records.  No age given.  There is also a record for Dna Francisca Goldfinch in the Winchester RC records dated 8 July 1808.  Same person?

The marriage to Elizabeth Linkhorne in 1810 was also by licence:

George Goldfinch of Owslebury, yeoman, age 50, widower and Elizabeth Linkhorne of Twyford, spinster age 50, to marry at Twyford, dated 8 July 1810.

No need to start a new topic looking for Goldfinch family so I've merged your new post with the thread you'd started previously.
