Francis Blake married Mary Rowntree 26/9/1829 Old Church St.Pancras  IGI

I have in an old family book kept by their grandaughter Emily Annie Playford born Aug 1853 where she listed all family names and dates Francis Radford Blake married Mary Rowntree 15/12/1820?

I have found their daughter Emily Augusta Blake born 11/1/1830 ch. 14/10/1830 Old Church St.Pancras.

I have found a birth on IGI for a Francis Blake 19/11/1799 Longton Derby. Although the book does not give places for any of the data it gives a birth date of 17/11/1799.

Can anybody explain the two dates also I have a death date for Francis 30/9/1896 & Emily Augusta 3/4/1897?

Also can they be found in any relevant census.

Many thanks with all help given.

Jennifer

I have a death date for Francis 30/9/1896

If he was born 1799 - he would have been almost 97 by that date.  No death on freebmd in 1896

1841 for Rickmansworth Herts.  Charlotte's age could preclude an 1829 marriage unless she was Mary's illegitimate daughter. Francis's occupation could explain the "esquire" on the marriage entry

All are shown as not b in county

Mary   40

Emily Blake 11

That is fantastic Carole, it was the place of birth for Francis and Mary that I really needed.

It looks like I have found the right birth for Francis in Longford Derbyshire and now I can have a look for Mary.

Charlotte did indeed marry Charles Warner Lewis
Harriett married Thomas Henry Wakley President of the Royal College of Surgeons and co-editor of the Lancet (that his father the Thomas Wakley started).
Louisa married Herbert H Playford

You have also picked up Elizabeth Moorhouse who is cousin Lizzie Moorhouse age 69 died 14/12/1895 according to the book.

I am sorry I put the wrong dates of death record for Francis and Mary.- should be: Francis 20/5/1871 & Mary 14/6/1870.

I wonder if Francis Blake just made the 1871 census?

I am trying to make sense of the book that was written all those years ago, an earlier marriage would make the birth of Charlotte right? Perhaps as you say she was born before she married Francis and a marriage date was made  to cover up the birth?

I am so grateful for all the help I am receiving, thanks to all.

I hope I can repay the favour one day.
