 ;) Thank you, Crisanane.

I stumbled on the Wolverhampton History site, and the Church Registers 1751- 1903 pdf, I was sure I found a marriage for an Alfred Jones, engine fitter, but I didnt take much notice because things didnt fit.
Now I cant find it again. - Dont you hate that -
I need to know what Sarahs maiden name was, marriage date and where, if poss. (dont want much, do I !!)  ::)

Thanks, David

Well the most reliable way to find out Sarah's maiden name is to buy one of the children's birth certificates. :) This would ensure you didn't go barking up the wrong family tree.
http://www.bmsgh.org/cgi/marrind.cgi   On here is a marriage for an Alfred Jones to a Sarah Heatley Burslem, Saint John, Stoke on Trent ref 3/06/060.
The same marriage on FreeBMD is Registration District Wolstanton, Dec 1/4 1872, vol 6b, page 140

The only marriage of an Alfred Jones Reg. Dist. Wolverhampton is in 1870 but the two brides are an Elizabeth and a Mary. Of course they could have used the name  Sarah.
