Mary Marenghi

Hi,

I am looking for information on Mary Marenghi, i presume she was born in Newcastle upon Tyne. She was the adopted daughter (so says the 1911 census and age 11) of my 2nd Great Grandmother and Grandfather, their names were Albertina and Jerome Cavazzi.

Any information gratefully accepted.

If you look on free bmd (free birth marriage and death records) freebmd.org.uk it lists a Mary Merenghi born 1899 in Newcastle. If you order up the birth certificate using the volume and page no`s listed then it should give you more information.

Hi Sharon,

There ia a Mary Merenghi on the 1901 census living with her parents Angelina (maiden name Vivian) & Stephen Merenghi. Head of the house is her grandfather Francis Vivian.


They are living in Newcastle upon Tyne.
 RG13  4780 Folio 89 Page 36.


Angelina married Stephen (Stefano) in 1801 in Newcastle upon Tyne.

I forgot to mention that Stefano and Angelina's parents were born in Italy.

Just thought i would give you an update on Mary,  her mother died in 1906 and think her father in 1908 her grandfather also in 1908 and i cant find anything about her grandmother - so perhaps that is why she was adopted by my relatives as she was an orphan....ah poor thing. Thanks for the information.
