Quebec .... possibly may've been also Maritime Provinces...circa 1845 - 1920. I noted that StGermain has a lot of dit names so think maybe thats what the family is under??? I know the French went back and forth to the New England states and Canada did not always register them at the Border Crossings if a Family member was born in Canada..so they could've slipped thu with no documentation.

Thanks

There is this Salomé Patenaude  in Verchres County 1852 census - 544 Ste. Anne des Varennes parish ... Parents are Louis Patenaude & Louise Fily with many children listed... http://automatedgenealogy.com/census52/View.jsp?id=52077

( birth works out to be approx. 1845) If this is not the correct age for Salome then you can see the problem with not helping out with the approximate date of marriage for the couple you state, as China has said.... One St. Germain in area if this proves to be correct family http://automatedgenealogy.com/census52/SurnameSearch.jsp?surname=st+germain&sdid=1053

 ;D There's also a Salomée b. 1833 Huntingdon County / 137 Laprairie village
http://automatedgenealogy.com/census52/View.jsp?id=36356&highlight=49&desc=1852
The marriage needs to be found...but maybe these name variations may help...

Wow. ..Henri St GERMAIN + Salome PATNAUD sp ? had a daughter Eva or Rose 1880 March
I do realize that people had often atleast 3 christian names which  only 1 of the 3 used.

Right, so Henri could be a third name as well, but we need to prove more than what we have so far to go further into this...a marriage  PATENAUDE / St Germaine will be needed with parents listed so we can do a census check.
WHERE was that birth please? I have a few things I am look at but need to pinpoint a little more local wise...
nevermind I see it on the IGI ...Eva Birth  March 21 1880 Oxford, Worcester, Massachusetts

Eliza age  22  b. Canada & several children born Mass.
I have a feeling you knew all this, but were hoping we'd find more beyond this but the thing is we need to have dates and whereabouts to find more... such as the name thing, family in same area etc...

Thank you very much....I noted there is also with William H St Germain and Alice Clayton.... a 1893 Sept 22 Marriage  at Oxford, Worcester, Mass and the parents: Hermidgeld St Germain and Salome Patucanel. This handwriting of u's that are n's and vice versa.... can get quite misleading as also the uncrossed t's that appear to our modern eyes as an L and so on.
Now to be able to locate other family with the same parents...Henry St Germain and Salome Patnaud/Patneaud(e)/Patnode and a  Palnaud
