birth of John Windsor abt 1812

Hi,
Looking for the birth of John Windsor who was sent to Australia in 1828 or 1829 arriving per Georgiana on 29th April 1829.
His convict record shows his native place as Birmingham, Warwickshire.
Age shown means he would have been born around 1812.

I have all his convict information after his arrival in Tasmania, Australia

Hi Garry,

Does his Marriage or Death Certs in Australia provide any extra details eg Parents names?

I see from a family tree that he married Ann Nowlan and one Son was named Richard Daniel Windsor.
If he was the first Son often they were named after the Fathers Father.

Thinking laterally these are the only Windsors living in Birmingham Warwickshire in 1841 Census that would be old enough to have been Johns parents.
( I looked at over 1178 Windsors in the 1841 Census and very few lived in Birmingham or even Warwickshire in general)

This all might be of some help in the future and/or some of these names were passed down by John and might ring a bell with what you know from Australia.

Gives me somewhere to look now.

One part of his convict record shows occupation as jeweler while another shows carpenter so if trades follow in the family I will look more closely at William Windsor.
His eldest son is also called John, while 2nd son is William and 3rd son is Daniel. 2nd eldest daughter is Sarah, names which fit in with William's family

So nothing on his Marriage/Death Certs?
At least names and occp are a possible match.
I will see if I can find Richard in 1851 Census.

1851/1861 Richard is married and a Silversmith/Jeweller with no children.
Darn a dead end as was hoping to find descendants!

I haven't seen either as yet.
Am heading to the local gene library next week as I think they have microfilm of both.
Not sure what details they have though.

As Sarah is younger than William in 1841 Census she may be a second Wife.
