Also 02/08/22 was the day of the Kerry Landings at Fenit (Kilfenora is in Fenit District, Co.Kerry)

He died on the first day of the landings.

The following from the Timeline of the Irish Civil War

August
    * 2 August 1922– Naval Landing of Free State troops in county Kerry. Paddy Daly and the Dublin Guard, as well as others, a total of about 800, land at Fenit. They fight their way to Tralee at a cost of 9 killed and 35 wounded. Two republican fighters are killed in the fighting and more are wounded. The remainder retreat.

There was a book written in the 1940s by a man named Fox (RH Fox I think)
It listed all the people involved in the war of independence if they were known
It just stated region operated in, name and duration
I have a copy of some names from it and I will try and dig it out to get the actual name of the book - it should be available in libraries

Also military records from that period are held in Renmore Barracks, Galway
The records of anyone who even applied for a pension in the 1940s/1950s, when one was made available, is held there.
Now don't hold your breath I applied last December for two records and am still waiting - waiting period is 6-9 months to get records from storage copied and forwarded.
Basically people at the time applied for a pension and included a written document of what their activities were during 1916 and 1920-22. Some just filled in the form and  ticked the box, others wrote long detailled letters of their actions. These forms were kept regardless of whether a pension was awarded or not.

There is a Patrick Quinn, Son of James Quinn in the 1901 Census, listed at that time in Dublin
http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/pages/1901/Dublin/South_Dock/Wentworth_Place/1350317/

Which is the same Quinn who died at Fenit (aged 23 as listed in those KIA in Kerry 1922). However that means that Patrick Quinn was born in 1889/90 so would have only been 15/16 in 1915. Do you have his mother's name?

I dont have his mothers name unfortunately. On his marriage cert his age is stated as 'full' so I just presumed he was over 21, maybe he lied because that would have meant he also lied to enlist in British Army in 1914/15.
On his marriage cert his address is listed as Esker/Ester Park, Rialto.

You are very good for finding all that info on Pat Quinn, Ill start looking into it.
