Catherine Shimmin
« on: Monday 03 May 10 04:39 BST (UK) »
As far as I know, this Catherine Shimmin was born to John & Jane (nee Cubbon or Cubbin) in 1800, Arbory.  She emigrated to Australia as Catherine Cashin and I'm trying to find a record of the marriage  to James Cashin who was also on the ship - so far without success.  I have found her death reg in Australia, and there's no mention of husband's name and no children listed.  Her occupation was a nurse, which may explain them accompanying Ann Cashin & her family out to Aust in 1852.

I know that on PROV these people are listed as on the same ship, but on Ancestry, James and Catherine are Scottish, and arrive on "Chasely". Ann and family are "English" and aboard "Constance".

But this info doesn't mesh with your Catherine, so perhaps they aren't the same?
