Another Marsom - Mary Completed
« on: Monday 03 May 10 12:59 BST (UK) »
Hello,

Mary married Thomas Eagle on 25/12/1852 at Northill. Farther William

From the 1861/71 census she states Old Warden as her place of birth, born about 1822.  Can anyone see her in 1841/51 census.

Can someone look for her dob and mother in the PR.

Thankyou

The Old Warden registers are extracted onto the IGI up until 1875 see
http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~hughwallis/

but no children of William and Susan, only one Marson/m baptism at all. I wonder if they were non-conformist?

There were marriages in Old Warden in 1847 of John Marson, and in 1848 of William Marson, in both cases the father is shown on the IGI as William

But I can't find a marriage of a William Marson to a Susan

Is it assumed that these Northill and Old Warden Marsons descend from the Potton Marsons?

Janan and David,

Thankyou for the 1841/51 info. I was hoping there might have been a connection to the Potton/Biggleswade Marsoms, through William, but there were alot of William and Marys so its not always possible to determine whos who. They were a prolific family.

Maybe there still is through the Marsoms in Luton, who were I believe Baptists. Some of the earlier members of the family maybe moved around Bedfordshire.

Margaret

Is this the daughter Mary mention in the 1849 will of Elizabeth Marsom who died 1853 ?  or are we on another twig in this tree of yours.

Are the William & Thomas who appear with Mary in 1841 & 1851 the same persons - yes I know the ages are different - but it's a bit of a coincidence or what ?.

I wondered that too John and even double checked the image. However in 1861 Thomas and Mary Eagle (nee Marson) have a 12 year old son William Eagle who I take to be the William Marson found with her in 51, there is an 1848 birth for William Marsom in Biggleswade district which would fit the bill. There is  also an 1850 Thomas Marson birth, can't see what happens to him though.

I was hoping this Mary was the one mentioned in the will of Elizabeth Norgin/Marsom given her birth was in Old Warden, so part of the same twig!!

So if her birth was 1822 why didn't William marry Elizabeth sooner than 1829? Which is why I wondered if there were any details in the PR.

More questions but are William and Thomas Eagle children or the illegitimate children of Mary, given she didn't marry until 1852
