Pte C F Finch, 7th Batt Nothampton Rgt

I have been following the family of the above Charles Frederick Finch born at Helmdon in 1881, who joined the 7th Batt Nothamptonshire Regt at Northampton and was killed on 9th Oct 1916 at Villiers Arbois. Am I right to presume that he would have been involved in the Somme battle? & how would I find out exactly where he died. His army No was 18313 and he was aged approx 36

Have you had a look at the CWGC site ?

I found him in the Debt of Honour and there is a Memorial Certificate which gives his wife's name and address also a photo of the cemetery.
