Hi Trish,
Mary Anne Copeman died Jul-Sep 1871 at Freebridge Lynn, so it must have been just after the census.
You got it in one, I am on the Sunshine Coast in Qld.

I have another family in the same area of Norfolk which is part of my research on Pleasance High and Robert Copeman,  that I would like to find more information on.
Thomas King, book keeper, possibly born about 1754. died 18 Feb 1829 Coltishall, Norfolk.
married 12 Jun 1785 St John Baptist, Colishall, Norfolk
  to  Ann Woolnough

This may be her:  Ann Woolno  christened 14 Sept 1759  Coltishall Norfolk
Father  Thomas Woolno and mother Ann

The name King is very prevalent in the area and I have not been able to find a christening for Thomas King
Any help would be very much appreciated

Hi Wyanga,
It may be an idea to start a separate thread on that enquiry.
Some wonderful Chatters on here have access to Parish Records I do not.

Trish :)

Don't worry about that Wyanga. I think only the moderators have the power to split topics.  ;)

Just start a brand new thread the same way you started this one. You can copy your question about the Kings, then just paste it into the message box in your new question (the same way you copy and post anything). Then just give it a new subject/title.

Good luck.

You could also purchase Pleasants Marriage Cert to Robert Holmes which would provide her Fathers name.
Pleasance COPEMAN
Robert HOLMES
March 1843, Freebridge Lynn, 13 237

Trish

  Hi Trish,
I have obtained Pleasance Copeman' s marriage record to Robert Holmes as you suggested. marriage 11 Feb 1843,at the parish church Gaywood, Norfolk: and now have a father  for both Robert Holmes ( father Robert Holmes, can't decipher profession, could be Fell manager ?? ) ) and for Pleasance Copeman ( father John High Labourer )
I havn't had a chance to see how much good this will do me in pushing back my ancestry
as I have only just received a scan of the document, but your suggestion has yielded a couple of fathers.
Pleasance was illiterate and signed with an X. One of the witnesses was F. High
Thank you Trish for your suggestion

Pleasance Copeman's ( nee High ) marriage certificate has given me a father of John High.
Family search has a John Hye marriage to Ann Hewing in 1814 at Gaywood, Norfolk, which is in the right timescale to be Pleasance's parents, but it is a submitted entry.
Does anyone have access to parish records for Gaywood Norfolk ?
I am in Australia and cannot do a physical search. Pleasance gives a birth date of about 1816 at Gaywood in the census records.
I am looking for a birth/ christening for Pleasance High, born about 1816  Gaywood, with a father  John High.
Also checking for a marriage for John Hye ( High ? ) to Ann Hewing in 1814 , Gaywood Norfolk.
Neither records come up in Freereg Parish records, and Gaywood is not listed in the familysearch/  Hugh Wallis batch numbers.
Any help would be greatly appreciated
