Hi Kev  :)

I've had a good look on Scotlands People and don't see a baptism for her - I used Mil*r and just E as my search terms with a wide year range.

The closest that I can get is in Fife in 1810.

Do you have a list of any children she had in birth order as she might well have used her parents names for some of them.

Hi Gadget,

I've picked up this info from a public tree on Ancestry so unsure of Angus location.
According to this tree, Euphemia had a daughter Ann(e) Marley born @1836. Other children mentioned were John, Robert, George, Thomasina and William, all born in Liverpool.

Oh dear, one of the source citations on the tree is to the 1841 in Scotland. Here's she's married to a James Miller.  I'll list the entry but I don't think it's yours as she was in Liverpool at the time

Tay Street East, Dundee, Angus
Parish No - 282 ED 63 Page 4

James Miller, 35, coal merchant
Euphemia Miller, 30
Euphemia W Miller, 10
Catherine Miller, 9
James Miller, 7
Alexander Miller, 5
Isabella Miller, 10 months
Helen Brown, 20
Elisabeth Tarvis, 60

All b. Angus except Elisabeth Tarvis

I don't like those Ancestry trees - not one little bit!

Thanks Gadget,

I only use these "public trees" as a basis. I try and confirm and then tie in the information. My "main" family is based in and around Liverpool so that is where I would anticipate finding the family in 1841. I see one of the other tree citations is in Liverpool so I'll take a look and see what I can find out.

Regards

Kev

Hi again

Have you had sight of the marriage entry. There might be some witnesses that could give a lead.

I had a look on freebmd and found these deaths:

Deaths Dec 1864: Marley    Euphemia Miller - W.Derby 8b   481
Deaths Jun 1865: Marley    Euphemia Miller - W Derby 8b   41_
Deaths Dec 1878: MARLEY Euphemia Miller - 64 - W. Derby 8b 470

Thinking she died prior to 1881 census and her death most likely Dec 1878 which seems to fit the c.1812 birth - perhaps? The WorldConnect details state that she probably died 1878 (http://wc.rootsweb.ancestry.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?op=GET&db=:3228914&id=I2193). I found burial records for the first two in Toxteth Park Cemetery and they are both infants:

MARLEY   Euphemia Miller   8 months   Infant   3 Spekefield Cottages   28 June 1865   1095   21892   C   L   218   352 CEM 9/1/5
MARLEY   Euphemia Miller   9 weeks   Infant   17 Speke Street   16 November 1864   1013   20242   C   M   365   352 CEM 9/1/5

Perhaps the infant from Spekefield Cottages is a relative. According to WorldConnect, she was living at Spekefield Cottages just four years earlier in 1861. There are also burials listed for Mary Jane and Thomasina:

MARLEY   Thomasina   15 years   Spinster      7 September 1859   371   7418   C   A   443   352 CEM 9/1/2
MARLEY   Mary Jane    8 months   Infant   5 Spekeland Cottages   7 January 1868   1399   27956   C   F   572   352 CEM 9/1/6

The Mary Jane above, appears to be her grandaughter.
