If you looked on abebooks website or amazon you might be able to pick up a seconf hand copy cheaply.

Hi there,
Yes Please, I am interested in what they say about the oldest Pub in Shropshire known as 'The Three Horse Shoes' at Alveley

it probably was built as a church alehouse after "church ale" was banned during the reformation the pub survived as a secular brewhouse.

By the 19th century the inn had increased to have 5 upsairs room,3 downstairs and stabling for 4 horses.

When the colliery was in use there was 1 pub per every 400 people.

Sounds like a book I might be interested in. I found out that one of my ancestors ANN DAVIES (NEE PHILPOT) ran the NAGS HEAD in Pontesford with her husband SAMUEL DAVIES between 1888 and 1891. So I am after more info on the pub.
