SCOTT/OGILVIE of Mount Pleasant (estate?)
« on: Thursday 06 May 10 11:06 BST (UK) »
Hi from South Africa.
I am trying to trace my ancestor, Robert Ogilvie Scott's family.  He was born abt 1800 to James Scott and (possibly Jane) Ogilvie.  Robert is said to have named his South African farm after his parents' place called "Mount Pleasant" and I believe it may be somewhere in Roxburghshire.  Has anyone local ever heard of a Farm, House, estate etc called Mount Pleasant in the area?  His parents were said to have died when Robert and his 2 brothers were young and they were raised by the Ogilvie family somewhere in Peebles.

If anyone has any Ogilvie/Scott family I would love to hear as I believe Robert's brothers might have gone to Australia or New Zealand.

thanks Jenny
