Hi, I'm trying to find out some info in regards to Terance Kearns (?) and Catherine Smith who appear to live in Cavan. I've gotten this info off of a Assisted Immigration record for their so, Patrick (who I'm hoping is the relative I'm looking for). I'll post the record on here as well as I can't read it that well. I've had a look for records but as I'm new to looking for irish ancestors I haven't quite found the sites to use. Thanks.

Patrick is listed as age 38 in the record but I can't see a year anywhere. Civil registration of births in Ireland started in 1864 so if he was born earlier you will need to start searching for church records but to do so you need to know where the family lived (parish if not actual townland, not just 'Co.Cavan').

Hi, thanks for your reply. I have no idea where the family lived. I haven't got much on Patrick and his life before he married and had children. It's driving me insane. I'm just going to have to keep looking and break through the wall.
