Royal Horse Artillery 1847
« on: Friday 07 May 10 21:19 BST (UK) »
Does anyone know what the Rank of "Gr & Dr" means on the birth certificate of a child of a man serving in the RHA c.1847?

Thanks in advance.
Bob

This was reformed as the Corps of Gunner Drivers in 1801. In 1806 these became the Royal Artillery Drivers. In 1822 these were disbanded and from that date all men enlisted into the Royal Artillery as "Gunner and Driver";
