Southwell burials, SAXBY - COMPLETED
« on: Saturday 08 May 10 18:22 BST (UK) »
Could anyone check to see when Susannah and Matthew SAXBY were buried. Their last child was born in Southwell in 1805, and I think they had died by 1841. I'm assuming that they remained at Southwell. Matthew was born in 1756, and Susannah in 1762.

Thanks

Many thanks again Carol, I was wondering what had happened to some of their children. It's so sad that six of their eleven children died in youth.

Seeing as your Southwell burials seem very complete Carol, I was wondering if you could spot any of the other surviving Saxby children buried at Southwell.

There were five of them, I have been able to trace only Matthew through the censuses, it looks like the others may have died before then.

- Elizabeth ADAMSON (nee SAXBY), born 1782, wife of John, died late 1820s-1830s, Southwell
- Matthew SAXBY, died 1854, Southwell
- George SAXBY, born 1791 (can’t find what happened to him, is there possibly a burial at Southwell?)
- Rebecca HURT (nee SAXBY), born 1796, wife of Samuel, died 1828-1841, Southwell or perhaps Lowdham
- Abraham SAXBY, born 1803 (can’t find what happened to him, maybe buried at Southwell?)

Thanks for your help.

Alexander
