William Dennis info

Hi

I'm trying to find info on a William Dennis born about 1880. He married Agnes Starling on 12/11/1899.

The 1901 census says he was born St Lukes, London. The 1911 census say he was born Whitechapel, London.

His marriage cert. say's his father was a George Dennis although he was not a witness.

That's all the info I can find. My father always said his dad was born in Ireland, but I cannot find anything that confirms that.

If anyone has any other suggestions of where I can look?

Have you already checked the 1881/1891 census for him?

Hi Carole

Yes, I have seen this entry but all shows me that he may have a brother named George some 9 years older, but nothing else.

I cannot find his parents anywhere.

Although the 1901 census shows him as 21 - when he married in 1899 he is shown as 22 and Agnes was 19.  This puts his birthyear between 1877-1880

His father is shown as a hawker

In 1911 he is 32
