Hi Susan

The 1928 map shows the position of Lynton Lodge in relation to Queens Drive. Its just to the north of Queens Drive and south of Molyneaux Road and part of Liverpool College.  You could try contacting the College to see if they have any information, they may even have a photo.

Lynton Lodge/Linton does not appear on the 1st edition OS 6 inch map of 1850, though Mossley Vale, on the other side of the road, does.
What about 1861 census anyone?
[Its Queen's DRIVE, by the way]

Hi All:  I can see that I have my work cut out for me and thanks to everyone for all these sources for further research on the house.  It will add a new dimension to the genealogy story and I will do my best to track down the facts (and with a little help from my new Garstonite/Liverpudlian (is that the correct term?) friends, if you don't mind).  Susan

Before postal districts were introduced, the Road ran right through, including what are now 'North' and 'South'.

linton lodge was number 31 north mossley hill road and for some reason the house numbers on this road dont go 2,4,6 or 1,3,5 like the do now were odd and even were on opposite sides of the road
