(And why aren't they called Smith!!)

1901 RG13; Piece: 5222; Folio: 16; Page: 4.
Little Mountain, Gwersyllt
Harriet Julia Davies 30 m b Wrexham
Ethel Allen Davies 4  b "
Constance Maud Davies 2 b "
Ellenor Hughes 15 servant b "

As for the marriages you have , if they are Civil then you will have to pay for certificates. If they were in Church they could have been found.
By the way - I live about 10 mins walk from Little Mountain and Hazel Grove.

I can`t seem to locate William at all, all we know is that he worked at Wrexham and Acton Colliery Offices when he married , and he was the eldest  son of William Davies of Bryn Bennet, Broughton. It only mentions that Mrs and Master Davies were among guests  at the wedding breakfast ( mother and brother ).

At last, a bit of info about Frank Jones. He's born 1871, and a builder. And Hazel Grove Gwersyllt. Good. a start to find some more. - thanks, Maidmarion.

Yes that's Harriet - but William must have been away?
Connie was my mother's cousin and went to Australia in 1948.
I tried looking up all the William Davieses locally but no luck.
Most of the family are in a very local area.

You are not going to beleive this,  :o :o :o but I have in my hand a book written by Eleanor May Horton.  " The Spark still Glows"
She says her mother  is the youngest daughter of John Allen of Syddalt, once a farmer but later a builder.
Her name was Martha Margaret Allen and she married William James Jackson in July 1903. She lived at Beehive Villa which is the Gwersyllt Post Office.
The marriage of Harriet Julia Allen and William Davies took place at Gwersyllt Congregational Chapel.
If you live localy there is a copy of this book in Wrexham Museum.

You aren't going to believe this. May Horton was my mum!
Born Eleanor May Jackson, married Andrew Little, then Ted Horton.
I have the book and very useful it's been on the family history trail. (I live in Oxfordshire now).
Any one know more about the 'Beehive Stores and Post Office?
We don't even have the original photos she used in the book, although we have some of the others.

I have a further 'four generations' picture as in the front, but showing her as the oldest instead of the youngest!
Very nice to know it's there.
