I noticed the name Alison in the book and did wonder about it. I`ve just been reading it again.
Many of the houses named are still there, in fact part of my own family lived in Horseshoe Cottage which is  next to Beehive Villas,
Hazel Grove is surounded by a bungalows and Westfield is not far away.
My Mum had the book and I kept it when she died. We went to the same  Chapel so it`s probably through a connection there that she got it.
There are a James and Thomas Phennah mentioned and I`m 99.99% certain that I am touch with James`s descendant. He was a rate collecter or similer for the council so it seems likely to be him.
Also I was in school with a guy named  Edmund Allen, he was from Windy Hill which is very close to Sydallt, maybe a relative ?.
If you like I can try to take some photos for you.
You can send me your email in a Private message.
As they say, it`s  small world  ::)

 Photo is of Hazel Grove.

I thought Westfield was still there, in fact I wrote to the address, but no reply. Can't see it properly on Streetview.
I will find out how to send you a message! (I've only been on here today.)

I have a report of Mrs Allen's funeral from the local paper, and it's amazing how many of the people who were there I can identify. One was a Richard  Phennah, sanitary inspector.
I have an Edmund Allen brother of John Allen, also lived at Sydallt Farm, maybe a grandfather?

I would love some photos, and would pass them on to my sister.  Did you mean Beehive Villas is still there?

Not sure what has been happening here.
This is the firat time I've seen the picture of Hazel Grove, and I don't think the last two posts came up as new (on my first page) until now....still better late than never...and I have tried to send my email in a pm! I will repeat.
Thanks for the research! House is very like Westfield, isn't it?- Alison
