« on: Saturday 15 May 10 17:09 BST (UK) »
I have been trying to find this family for 4 yrs now, sadly my nan died 4 yrs ago which is why i started it so have had to find what information i have by myself ive got as far as her grandad but as he was born around 1836 i havent found any baptist records for him or his sisters anyway her goes with what i have:

Richard Charles born 1803abt died 1861  found on the 1841 and 1851 census, wife not sure of her name, have no other info except i found 2 Richard Charles in the criminal records section, i wasnt sure if he was mine or not.

Thomas Charles (His son & my grt grt grandad) born abt 1835 died in 1904 married Ann Dudley in 1856  got marriage cert and names, dates and info of their children

Sarah Charles ( his dau & my grt grt Auntie?) born abt 1836 found on the 1841 & 1851 census, married a samuel Dyas in 1855

Ann Charles (his dau & my grt grt Auntie?)    born 1838 found on 1841 & 1851 census, have no idea what happened to her.

Leah Charles (his dau & my grt grt auntie?)  born abt 1840 found on 1841 census as LEEHA  cant find her on the 1851 census but have found her on the 1861 Living with a Thompson family in kingswinford,
she married a William Jones 24th dec 1861  his profession states a puddler his father is John Jones and a Cordwainer
I have no idea where Leah went  after i thought i found her on the 1881 census but the occupation of the head  was carpenter

sorry it looks a bit dysfunctional  would love to find out more about Richard and his parents and find Leah and Ann

many thanks

Hi Kaz,

Cleobury christenings (at least 1813 - 1861) are on the IGI at www.familysearch.org

Thomas gives a birth ca. 1833/1834 on the censuses I see (and he's 9 in 1841), so this looks good to me:
Thomas Charles - 8 July 1832 Cleobury Mortimer
parents richard and Mary

other children christened to parents Richard and Mary in the same batch:
Hannah Charles 14 May 1837 (Ann, I suppose)
Leah Charles - 17 Nov 1839
William Charles - 14 May 1842

The IGI also has a marriage:
Richard Charles - Mary Adams
19 Sep 1831 Cleobury Mortimer

Hi Tati,

Ive just been looking at those,  I was wondering if Hannah had been shortend to Ann on the census as her year of birth was the same.
Didnt know about William,  I found an Elizabeth  in the baptisms on Ancestry and was wondering if she was maybe Leah

how accurate is the IGI? i have used it at times to cross reference

how accurate is the IGI?
In the case of extracted records like these, as reliable as a transcription can be.

Ann and Hannah are pretty much interchangeable it seems. I certainly have a lady in my tree who was christened Ann and used Hannah all her life.

I wonder if Leah was actually staying at her sister Hannah/Ann's in 1861 (although she's shown as Emma)

There's a marriage
Hannah Charles - Daniel Thompson at Amblecote Holy Trinity in 1858
(shame I can't find the family on later census to check Mrs Thompson's first name)

I suppose the christenings are held at Shropshire archives - have a look at their site:
