Hi Trish and Kris.  Many thanks for these posts.  Pictures getting a little clearer.

I gather from the above that
Thomas Webster married Margaret Robinson in 1814 in Melsonby Yorkshire
They would have a daughter Jane born in 181?  at Melsonby Yorkshire

It appears that Jane was baptized in 1817 at Melsonby Yorkshire

Some years later Thomas and Margaret had three more children born in Melsonby Yorkshire

Margaret born in 1826?
Mary        born in 1834?
Thomas   born in 1837?

Jane would marry Henry Butcher in March 1844 in Richmond North Yorkshire

If we have the right parents Henry was born to Jacob Butcher and Elizabeth Dex who married in Deverill Longbridge Wiltshire in February 1814.

Henry was born on the 4th August 1819 in Crockerton Wiltshire and was baptized on the 19th December1819.

Henry and Jane would move to Drummond Street Somers Town London where they would have four children.

Henry Butcher born 1844
Jane Robinson Butcher born 1846
Thomas William born in 1849
George Butcher born 1851

In 1853 they would migrate to Port Phillip Victoria Australia on the ship Calliope.

Henry Webster Butcher would marry Annie Sims in 1866 in Melbourne and have the following children with the following surnames..

Alfred Henry Webster B 1867
Alice Ellen Butcher B 1870   D 1870
George William Butcher B 1871   D 1873
Rosina Jane Butcher B 1874   D 1875
Ernest Edward Butcher B 1878
Ethel Maud Webster B 1880

You got it 90 per cent right mate ;D

Except its Thomas and MARGARET that have ;
Jane 1817
Margaret 1826
Mary 1834
Thomas 1837

There are probably other children born 1814-1837 that are not at home in 1841 census besides Jane but I have been unable to find them.

You would need someone to search the actual Parish Records for Melsonby. Also Thomas may have moved around with his occp. so others could be Christened elsewhere.

Thanks Trish.  Fixed that up.

Now I just have to link Henry Webster Butcher's son Alfred Henry to my Alfred Webster [g grandfather] who arrived in Charleville Queensland in 1898.

Hi,

One more thing you are siting the Yorkshire (North Riding) parish as Melonsby when in fact it is Melsonby.

Cheers Kris  :)
