There's a possibility that Amos Arniell Wiggins may have married twice as besides the marriage in 1887 to Sarah Ann Studley there is also a marriage of an Amos Arneill Wiggins in Dec 1880, Newcastle upon Tyne. There are two candidates either Ellen Elizabeth Burley or Nellie Pallister.

In 1886 there is a death of an Ellen Elizabeth Wiggins, West Derby, Lancs. The timeframe fits in well for Amos to remarry.
