you started with frederick b 1881   ,,the 1881 census shows him with his father william tate b 1852 in Oundle
the 1851/61 census shows william with his father thomas b 1822....

looks like william was born before the date of the 1851 census,,,which is why he appears on the 1851 census with his parents....

As the family came from Northants here is some information to help.

Dinah SLATCHER was baptised at Polebrook C of E
on 23 May 1824 to William, labourer & Catharine .

Other siblings Ann, 15 Aug 1813, Thomas, 14 Jan 1816,
Catherine, 16 May 1818, Mary Ann, 2 Jun 1822,
Matthew, 3 Jun 1827.
