Unfortunately I can't find any connection between that DJG and any of my ancestors! (But you never know.)

Ben - he came from Cwmgiedd and returned to Ystradgynlais (Cwmgiedd is a small village and is really part of Ystradgynlais - top of the Swansea Valley).

I have looked on incoming passenger lists but cannot seem to find any outstanding entries for 1913-1916 for a William Griffiths or Griffith born about 1874-1884 returning. A 40 year old one arrived in March 1915 but he gave his address as Chorley, Lancashire.

He was back by late 1914 as he had a child JuneQ 1915.
He was William David Griffiths if that helps.
