Well, Mort and Osprey, I know I'm thick, but there seems no way I can bring that screen up. I cannot find the boxes for numerical entry.
Do I need to upgrade perhaps?

no need for an upgrade, I have the basic sub and I can get them.

Using the 1851 for Wales, click on 'show advanced search options' and the boxes appear as long as you're using 'old search'.

I'm trying to see what happens if you're on 'new search', but the option doesn't seem to be on my screen just now, although it sometimes jumps to the new one mid-search.

I don't understand 'old search' / 'new search'.
Am I supposed to be able to choose between them?

Hi Osprey,
I've woken up at last.
Click on Search, Click 'old search' option on RHS of screen.
Carry out search using names and dates etc.
Then Redfine search, and click 'advanced search'.
Hey presto, census 'numerical' boxes appear at bottom.
I haven't spotted them before, but I know now.

Glad you found it! I have my fingers crossed that the 'old search' doesn't disappear - I really don't like the new one.
