sorry i have not contacted you sooner with georges details
george b1832c. bt 3.7.1832 st mary's scar.
not found on any census return, i assume he was at sea each time?
married mary ann clark widow (nee appleby) 21.10.1855 (have marr. cert)
they had 6 known children -
william 1858
george 1861
mary 1864
rachel 1865
harrison 1867
george 1868 (bt 17.5.1868)

mary ann married a third time to henry giles dec quarter 1869.
no death entry for george found any where.
thinking he maybe died at sea and no body was found so no death registered?

thanks for helping

hello there!
thanks for your reply, sorry to tell you this is the missing george's son. (as you said henry giles's step son - mary ann's third marriage)
i have already ruled this 13yrs old out.
george snr i think died in the bad weather that the north east  coast had in october/november 1869, but i have been looking for the ship he was on for a number of years.
several ships floundered, 3 about 28th oct/ 4th novemeber with 31 souls lost.
