Gravesend 1930's
« on: Saturday 22 May 10 15:31 BST (UK) »
I have in my possession a lovely old photo, that I just managed to stop my Dad throwing away!

It is of a group of about 40 ladies. On the back they have all signed their names (sadly in pencil, so very faded)

It came to my father's possession via his mother-in-laws cousin Freda Wiseman nee Tuffee.

Anyway - Dad seems to remember that the photo is of a Womens Meeting from a Church in Gravesend (most probably non conformist as Freda and Will attended a Brethren meeting), and estimates it to be in the 1930's (very approx)

There are none of our family at all in it (thats why Dad was going to throw it away) but I rescued it and am happy to send it to anyone with a genuine interest.

The names on the back (as far as I can make out) are:
E Francis, H Sharp, R Bailey, M Milton, A Wen, E Wood, E F Goodwin, L Perkins, L J Upton, J Taylor, E Hales, E Lummas?, H Bannister, F Hepton, E Howell, J Sawyer, F Turner, Cissie, ??, G Burns, C Staff, F Burgess, C McCabe, M Coombes, E Jeffrey, E A Swift, O Staff, A Church, J E Wright, A Hornchurch?, B E Seblen, A Tufnal, S Kendrick, A Arnold, E Webster, G Goodwin, E Mason, E Jewiss, R Staff, M White, G Read, L Griffin, V Kilner, E May, F Dave?

Sorry I dont have a scanner so cant let you all see it.

HI

Sounds as if my Aunt Ena Mason is in the pic along with a Milton cousin.

If the GHS don`t take up the pic please let me know and I`ll happily have it.
I`m a GHS member so would have access if they want it.

Thanks
