I have just started this line with Priscilla.In 1901 Eliza Tindall(Edwards mom) is living with Lewis Tindall 3 grandson.I assume this is the son of Edward Lewis and Priscilla.Have not looked at Diffey family except that father is Moses and mother Ann Kidney.

I notice in my origonal that I omitted year of birth-1867.Since day and month are correct I assume he did not know year??

Also Moses married Ann Kidney Jun 1863 Medway

Hmmm...maybe not the same then?  BUT... if the actual date is right and just the year is out.... that's tricky.

If it is the same man, it looks like he did not marry again which might make it even harder to prove it's him.. no parents names etc.  He was tripping around the place on various vessels.  He even came here to Aus.  Might make it hard to find out when and where he died.

Hi Karenlee.

I have some new info and need your opinion.
Found an entry for my Edward Lewis on Ellis Island site.He arrived in New York 29 May 1911 from Glasgow aboard Furnissia.Gave his age as 39 so born abt 1872 and bound for Tacoma Washington.Last lived in Red Hill England.His actual birth date 29 Dec 1867 and baptism 1874.He married Vancouver Canada 19 Aug 1911 and gave age as 40(1871)
Edward Lewis Naturalization record born 29 Dec 1875 last residence Nedhel(?) Could the last residence be Redhill?There does not appear to be any Edward Tindall births around London 1870-77.

I wonder if his age is out so often due to the fact that he was baptised as a child rather than an infant....  he must have known about the event but was not quite sure exactly how old he was when it happened??  Just a thought..

I think that Nedhel could well be Redhill... if he had an accent then he may have been misheard when he provided that information.

Had a look on the familysearch pilot site and found his marriage in Canada... parents were Edward Lewis TINDALL and Eliza Thompson CHANDLER. 

This is their marriage....

There is a birth for an Edward Lewis TINDALL March Qtr 1868 London Middlesex 1a 585 ??

So that makes it more than likely the birth I found in 1868 is the right one then.

Still not helping us find out when and where he died though is it??
