It certainly looks to be the same building to me, John.  Look at the windows and the position of the bricks above them.  And the archway (now the main entrance) is the same shape.

It is the same building, I made sure before posting the information, and the address is exactly the same as that in the 1919 Directory.

It looks as though the front of the building has been altered at some time, but the overall shape is the same, including the archway. The perspective of the photographs does not help to get a true comparison.

It looks like they have extended the arch to centralise below the window, before the window was offset. Also sealed up the doorway, extended the building and put in another tier of windows to replace the sealed up ones, also clad the groundfloor exterior wall. Possibly extended the building the other way as well. Thanks stan.
