The 'Old Bailey' site never interested me as my ancestors were all so 'goodie goodie' or never got caught !...... however, I do (did) have a nagging problem in that I could not find a particular street despite looking everywhere including 'Lost London Streets'.
So I thought I'd do a search for that street using the 'search' button on the Old Bailey site.
'Bingo'.......... 159 strikes!!......... but more than that you can pinpoint exactly where the missing street would have been by the names of neighbouring streets that still exist today.
For instance the procedings provide statements from the witnesses etc. which state ' He ran out of Leg Alley into Mercer Street and the policeman caught him at the corner of Hart Street' ................. it was Leg Alley that I was looking for.
