Wicklow Marriages - DOYLE
« on: Tuesday 01 June 10 16:37 BST (UK) »
Trying to find a record of James DOYLE married to a Mary Ann ? around 1830. Their child Daniel DOYLE was born in Wicklow around 1833. They then moved to London around 1836 (their 2nd child Mary was born in 1837 in London)  ANY information would be really helpful.

Thanks
Nicola

Full Civil registration started in 1864 (1845 for non-Catholic marriages) and to locate earlier records you need to research parish records if they exist. To do this you need to know the family religion and a fairly detailed location for the marriage - i.e. parish, town or townland.

Some County Wicklow baptisms are available on the pay-website site of the Irish Family History Foundation (www.irish-roots.ie), but they dont include any marriages in their database at the moment.

Birth certificate of daughter Mary should list mother's maiden name (english registration started 1837).
Away sorting out DNA matches... I may be gone for some time many years!

Thanks so much for the replies. I am only going on the date of birth from the census record I found. I thinkk I will have to find out exactly when she was born so I can get a birth certificate.
