Brynews Issa???

[P. in Canada]

Hi folks...On the BC of my husband's grandfather, it states that he was born at Brynews issa, St. Dogmells.  Is this a village or a farm???  His name was DAVID JAMES LADD, son of  WILLIAM LADD AND PHOEBE DAVIES, 1881.  Thanks

have you found them in 1881 or later Census records?
There's a Phoebe Davies at Longdown Bank, St Dogmells in 1881. Head of household, Mariner's wife
with daughter Amelia age 1 and Johnny age 2

but I can't find a William Ladd of the right age in that area...

His name was DAVID JAMES LADD, son of  WILLIAM LADD AND PHOEBE DAVIES

Since there are only two David James Ladd born around the time of your interest those of David James Ladd Cardigan Reg District 4th Qtr 1872 and David James Ladd Cardigan Reg District 2nd Qtr 1881, for future reference the following may confirm your Ladd family are from Cardigan.
From my database of Military Headstones of Pembrokeshire and border parishes I note the following;
Cardigan Cemetery :
Pvte Walter Ll. Ladd 4th Welsh who was accidentally drowned in the River Tivy August 21 1916 aged 22 yrs.

John Ladd died May 29 1920 aged 65 yrs also of Hannah Mary his wife died Jan 6 1928 Aged 67 yrs.
Lieut John Clifford Ladd R.N. Pilot Fleet Air Arm beloved son of Capt William Henry & Anne Mary Ladd of Adenwen Park Avenue Cardigan who lost his life whilst flying Sept 7 1953 aged 32 yrs.

William Henry Ladd died Nov 5 1956 aged 73 years also Annie Mary his wife ……………..
Also Cyril Ladd their eldest son……… died March 23 1985 at ……. Cardiff

A David J. Ladd is shown as aged 2 years the son of Mary A. Ladd a widow residing at Trewidwal St Dogmells in 1881
