Hi there
My great grandmothers name is Dorothy Garvin and I am sure she was born in Ireland. I would love to know more about her. I have a feeling I have some gravestone records here somewhere which mention parents and siblings so I really need to look back through my things. 4 more weeks of uni and then I can really get into my research again.
I am really keen to find out about my Irish ancestry :)
Any info would be great
Thanks
Lisa Green

I found a Dorothea born 1875 in Cork. Let me know if you find anything more.

Irish civil registration index lists a Dorothea Garvan born 1873 Mallow district, Cork (can't see the 1875 birth). The Irish Births section has her birthdate as 21 Apr.1873 and parents John Garvan nd Margaret Regan.

Thank you very much for your help.
Unfortunately that can't be the one as I rummaged through and found a picture of the gravestone which says she died in 1974 at 73 years, so must've been born in 1901. I am unsure whether she was born in Ireland or in New Zealand now? I will try to find out more info.
Thank you!

Hi:
My family name is Garvin, on my mom's side.  Im really new at searching family history and would like some help from whoever would like to respond.
I know my grandfather was Orville Leroy Garvin, his father was Charles Garvin and my mom thinks his mother's name was Adora.  Orville was born 1896 or 1897, July 21.  He had siblings: George (married to Grace), Neva (married to Ralph), Vinnie.  There were more but I dont have that information at this time.  How can I get more information?
My mother doesnt know much and I dont have much contact with others in the Garvin family right now
Can anyone help?
