1841 census - Dumfrieshire - Lattimer
« on: Saturday 05 June 10 06:44 BST (UK) »
Hello
Could someone please check the 1841 census for the Lattimer family.  I have been trying to find John Lattimer and family on the 1841 census. He was b/1795 Canobie, Dumfrieshire but as silk weavers the family moved following their work. Last child, Robert born 1834 Ashton-under-Lyme, Lancashire.  Thanks for your help.

Thank you Ev, Down-under & CSC for your quick response.

CSC - that is the right family who came to Australia - John & Ann Lattimer & sons Thomas, John and Robert and daughter Elizabeth arrived 1849. Am trying to trace their movements before then. The children I have for John & Ann are: Margaret, b/about 1822, Thomas, b/1825, Salford Lancs; John b/1827 Langholm, Dumfrieshre, Elizabeth b/1830, Carlisle, Robert 1834 Ashton. Does the 1841 census say where they were living when the census was taken?  It looks as though only two children were living at home in 1841 – can’t find the others on the census.

Their daughter Margaret was not on the shipping list with John and Ann.  She may have remained in UK as possible marriage [not confirmed] for Margaret to a George Robinson in 1845 at Stanwix, Co Cumberland but I can’t find them on 1851 census. Is it possible to check the 1851 census for Margaret?  Thanks for your help
