Hi Mick,

Would you like me to move this thread to the Europe board? There are quite a few swedish posts here.

I recently received a little info about a Frans Wilhelm Påhlsson, born in Karlshamm, Sweden, in 1861. He was illegitimate, mother Ingrid. Listed as a sailor but missing from the area from late 1880s! I think this might be him.

An old post. I looked him up here in Sweden:

1900
Pålsson, Frans Wilhelm
Seaman

Born: 1861 i Karlshamn (Blekinge län, Blekinge)

Unmarried man, alone.

I am sorry to disappoint but this man is not your Frank. He was living in Sweden in 1895 too.

Hi Mick

I took another look at this Frans Vilhelm Pålsson and this could actually be him.

He was recorded in the parish arrival books in 1908 and then transferred over to the church books the same year. He is recorded as being in USA and England and being missing for 8 years although I believe it was much longer as it probably took the minister a number of years to realize he was missing.
You said that he may have returned to Sweden.
You may have to become a member to see these records. It is free to do so.
