where are they burried COMPLETED
« on: Monday 07 June 10 01:06 BST (UK) »
I am trying to trace the location of a photograph of a grave that I have in my possession. It reads john james farrow died december 29th 1923 and Phancy Farrow died october 28th 1930. I am pretty certain it would be in the Sheffield area. I have tried the Sheffield General Cemetery Trust, plus have brought a disk of the Attercliffe, Darnall, Revel Lane, St Michaels roman catholic, and Tinsley Park cemeteries but no luck. Does any have any idea of other cemeteries in the area. I have enclosed a photo in case someone recognises the location.

A good source of Sheffield information could be had from Sheffield Indexers. sheffieldindexers.com
I have had a quick look on their database, but no luck with the names supplied.
Maybe a local may recognise the photo location.

It is possible that it is Burngreave as you have ruled all those out on the Sheffield FHS disc.
An email to the Friends of Burngreave cemetery should rule that cemetery out.

Another possibility is Darnall as the transcription only cover 1859-1901

many thanks Tuppie. I will try Burngreave. How do I get the Darnall names past 1901, bearing in mind that I live in Australia. Beryl

Hi.

As both death registrations are in the Ecclesall Bierlow registration district then it more likely that they are buried on the south side of the city.

I see from the 1911 census that they are living in Heeley...I have checked Heeley Christ Church and they are not buried there. Derbyshire Lane cemetery at Norton is another possibility.

This looks like a burial of a child from the marriage at Heeley Christ Church.
