Married a  Rachel Smith on the 17 April 1834 Chiseldon Wiltshire.
Around 1851 Thomas was Transported to Australia,
I Would like if possible what crime did he commit, where he ended up in Australia

Hi Wendy,

This looks like him transported on the Marion in 1845  (wife Rachel)

Also have a look through the Colonial Tasmanian Family Links.  The Thomas that they have as being born in 1807 must be his death (1881 Sorell) with the wrong age.  I can't see any applications to marry for him.

This will help with some of the abbreviations used in the records

Hi Wendy,

Thomas' first conviction was on 27 June 1843 for stealing hay - 12 months imprisonment.  A child must have died between then and 1845 as he was described as having five children in 1843, then four children in 1845.

By the way, Cherry Tree Opening is a place name.  :)
