Restore and Date please! Guess age of subject too?

As a bearded gentleman man, I will hazard a guess of mid-30s to very early 40s.  Very little grey in the beard.

mid - late 1870's.
Edit: I've just been looking at another Notman card with an identical logo but with the date 1876 which was specially printed for the Philadelphia Centenniel Exhibition,so this was probably after that.1877-9.
