Munro, Donaldson & Young
« on: Tuesday 08 June 10 17:07 BST (UK) »
Robert Young and Isabella Munro married in Alloa in 1845.                                                                                                     Isabella’s parents were Robert Munro and Catherine Donaldson.  Isabella was born in Alloa (1818).
Robert Munro, a Sheriff’s Officer, is a bit of a mystery man as his place of birth was recorded as ‘Foreign’ in the 1841 census.  I have been unable to locate any info on Catherine Donaldson either.

Any suggestions, anyone?

Did Robert die before the 1851 census as that should show his birthplace

Diddymiller:  Ref # for 1841 census is 465/00/003/00 027.
Scotlandspeople wrongly transcribed Robert Munro’s name as Morro.

CaroleW: According to the 1861 census Robert Young was born in Bo’ness.  He died between 1863 (when  daughter Susanna was born) and 1870 where he is recorded as deceased on his wife Isabella's death certificate.

CaroleW:  Oops, sorry.  I can find no trace of Robert Munro in the 1851 census so I have to assume he died sometime between 1841 and 1851.

I don't know the circumstances surrounding Robert Munro's arrival in Alloa.  All I have are the bare facts of the 1841 census.  He was 'Foreign' and was a Sheriff's Officer.
