Looking for William Boulton

I am trying to find out about a man called William Boulton.  He is one of my many loose ends and I'm trying to figure out if he belongs to my Boulton clan.

All I know is that he married a lady called Ann about 1637 in Barrowden, Rutland and had two daughters.

Catherine was born about 1638 in Oakham Rutland and her sister Elizabeth about 1646 in Barrowden, Rutland.

I got the information from IGI some time ago so I'm not sure if I should rely on it.

I found this in my transcribed baptism records for Oakham. It only confuses the issue I'm afraid :)

DAY  MTH   YEAR  FIRST NAMES   SURNAME  REL  PARENTS      PARISH
25  APR   1638  CASSANDRA   BOULTON  D/O  WM / ANNE  OAKHAM

There is a gap in the transcribed marriage records for Barrowden between 1629 and 1639.
Jones - Little Hinton, Wiltshire. Robinson - Rutland. Trigg - Uppingham, Rutland. Freeman - Rutland, Whitehouse - Birmingham, Chilman - Surrey Gloucs Leics.

That's the information I have.

IGI also told me that Cassandra died in 1639.

Cassandra's burial:
13 NOV 1639  CASSANDER BOLTON  DAU     WILLIAM/ANNE  OAKHAM

More baptisms of the same family?
1 MAR 1639/40  JOHN BOLTON     S/O  WILLIAM / ANNE  OAKHAM
2 JUL 1643  RACHELL BOLTON   D/O  WILLIAM / ANNE  OAKHAM

No Catherine, and no William Bolton/Boulton baptisms

No, like I said above, there is a ten year gap in the transcribed marriage records for Barrowden which covers the period that you are interested in. I'm not sure why this is - it's odd that someone else found the marriage. It's not one of those annoying IGI ones where someone has unhelpfully assumed that a marriage took place in a particular place is it? Or maybe the record was in the Bishops Transcripts, but not the parish reocrds.

Not entirely sure as I can't find it now ???

It may have been a submitted record but there's no way of checking seeing as IGI seems to have a habit of rotating the information >:(
