trying to find marriage and death
« on: Sunday 13 June 10 07:56 BST (UK) »
Hello, i have a Dorothy M Humphrey that was brn 1925 Hailsham,I was told she died around the age of 21 but this might be wrong.
I was also told that she possibly married so her death would not be under Humphrey.

I cannot seem to find the marriage or the death.

Any ideas folks.....Tim

That's a very tricky one, Tim  :-\
Her birth is reg. Q2 1925, Hailsham RD (2b 136) mothers maiden name, Hendley.
Any marriage in Sussex under that name from about 1943 when she would have been about 18 only has very early ones making her too young.  You need to get some more information, no matter how small, to find her.  If she married did she have any children?  Did she stay in Sussex?
Not much help I know,

Jane

Thanks Jane for the input, yes i am banging my head a bit.I have emailed the cemetery again and asked if they just look for a Dorothy M ? death between 1948 and 1953

Hopefully something will come up.I was told by a distant relative that they used to visit her grave years ago but cannot remember her name.

Fingers crossed.....Tim

Ahh, if you know the cemetery that might narrow down the possibilities.  Which one?

Tim, I've checked all the Dorothy M (no surname) that had a death reg. in Hailsham between those dates, checking all their DOB & didn't come up with anything.  Would her death have been registered in another district but buried at Heathfield (which comes under Hailsham Rd) next to her brother?

Dear Jane,
Thanks for your help, all of what i know is from what i was told by a relative which might be wrong as things are sometimes told to people and then slightly changed when they next tell it to someone.

I am hoping the Cemetery might come back with something for me.

Thanks again...Tim
