Thanks Geoff.Just tried again with the information you gave, still failed. Obviously not this family, but she doesn't appear on Free BMD not that I can find anyway.

On ancestry they are transcribed as George and Amiah Stephenson, maybe thats why you can't find them  :-\ RG11/3214 Folio 78 Page 3

aaahh so its Ellen Stephenson Stell at the bottom of the family then? or just Ellen Stell even thought it says "ditto"? she seems too old to be Hannah's daughter, unless she had her at 13  :-\

Looking at the 1871 census shes Ellen Stell, granddaughter to George and Sarah Stell, no sign of Hannah with them

Thanks, I shall have to buy her birth certificate by the look of things. Ellen is probably the daughter of an older sibling.
