Irish Brigade in Boer War
« on: Tuesday 15 June 10 22:24 BST (UK) »
I am researching a man who joined Casement's Irish Brigade in WW1 - James Carroll (link to the info I have on him)

Information on him by the NCO in charge of Casements Irish Brigade says that James Carroll had served in MacBride's Irish Brigade in the Boer War (yes, I know that MacBride did not command it)

Can anyone point me at how I check whether a James Carroll served with the Irish Brigade in Boer War or not.

I am researching James Carroll born about 1775, he has a daughter Elizabeth Carroll born about 1800. Elizabeth married John Martin in 1827 in Newington, Surrey, John must of died as Elizabeth remarried in 1839 to Thomas Young. Your research is wonderful, thank you so much for sharing it. I wonder if your James Carroll is related to mine?
