Thanks to everyone for their input. Have managed to build up a relatively detailed picture of Edward Stagg's time in the U.S. Another topic I can 'put to bed'.

Hello Doddie,

Thank you for the update, I am so pleased the link worked out for you.  It is always nice to get feed back on what responses people get, on this occassion its turned up "trumps" which was brilliant.
All the best with the rest of your research.

Regards.

Mrs Dettori.

I've just noticed this post. Edward Stagg (Eddie) was married to my father's sister, Jessie. Details match.

Hi Doddie

All I know about my uncle Eddie's war service is, he had a couple of medals on display in his home in Rothesay. My brother and sister both noticed them when they were kids. My brother thought that Eddie may have served some time in France but he was not sure.

I'd be interested to know what you think the link is, between Eddie and your grandfather. If you don't mind telling me, that is.

Regards

calp

It helps a great deal. Thank you.

Seeing the photo of my uncle, is so exciting. The information that you've given me is wonderful. I've attached a photo of Eddie and his wife Jessie. I hope you like it.

Hi calp, wonderful picture. You can see the definite likeness between young and older Edward. It's always nice to be able to put names to faces when doing this sort of research.
