Matthew Cowley is my great grandfather, so we must be related. My brother has his army discharge details, and I have the music book handwritten by him when he was a drill sergeant.

Thank you so much, I just tried to send another message my second with an email address and it said I am above my PM limit.

 I have found out what that now means but you can picture my face when I only sent one yesterday and tried again today!

Matthew Cowley had several children - Isabella (born 1868), Matthew Henry (born 1870), Fanny (born1872), William (born1873), Martha Annie (born 1874), Mary Alice (born1876), Albert (born 1880) and Ernest (born 1882).

In 1868, Matthew, then a widower, married Isabella Tazaker, daughter of Henry Tazaker.

Matthew's parents were Matthew Cowley, 1786 - 1853, of Ashover. and Sarah Mitchell, b 1786 Chesterfield, d 1859, Ashover.

Its where I mainly have the Cowley tree , I also have some information, and copies of newspaper clippings from Derbyshire.

 As soon as I can PM you properly I will send you my email or a link to the family tree if you wish.
 Do you have any photos of Matthew and Fanny? I would love to know what he looked like.
I am just really pleased to meet someone related to Matthew:)
