Hello everyone trying to find our Sully Family relatives, I am Mary Nolan nee Scully, I am the daughter of John Scully. born 1927. his mother was Johanna Scully in the 1901 census and Julia in the 1911 Census, At one point I thought Julia was in fact married to another John Scully also a Blacksmith IN Evan's or New Buildings Lane later. It is very very difficult to work out if they simply made a mistake on the census forms, Those things happened a lot in those days, Names and surnames got mixed up, I did think Julia was my great great Grandmother and her husband John Scully my great great grandfather. I have no idea what happened the so called eleven children as there are only nine on the list on the census, Some of those went to Usa, some in Bostonl some Rhode Island and I am in touch with a some decendants of them all, the fact that both Julia and Johanna appear to have the same Michael Cahill as their father makes it seem that they are one and the same person, I will write to St Canice's and St Mary's Churches to see if I can verify the situation, Keep looking guys and please keep me informed if you find something before you do, Why oh Why did they all use the same names ,,,John, Johanna, Anastasia, Canice , Dominicl and Louis keep popping up in two different generations, Hence the reason for my puzzlement, Good luck with the ongoing search.
