Liz,
Sarah Ann was born in Llanelly - Registration District of Crickhowell.

Free BMD has the marriage registration of a William Lewis Dec 1858 Crickhowell 11b 252. On the same page is an Ann Davies.

Marriage date fits with birth of Sarah Ann.

Possibility?

regards

1851 Census HO107 2488 41 2
Anne Davies, Unmarried, age 18, General Service, b. Llangammarch

This Anne is in general service to Hugh Pawell and family. Therefore, there are no parents/siblings against which she can be cross checked, unless the Pawells are related.

Hi there.

Thank you so much for finding this information for me. I am so excited to know you have found the marriage, given the names are pretty common ones. I will be ordering the cert this evening.

I really appreciate the time you have given to my request.

Many many thanks.
Liz.

Hi there.

Just to let you know that the marriage cert finally arrived and I am very happy to say it is the correct one. Details of Williams father name and occupation were exactly as I hoped they would be. Many thanks to you all.

Could I please ask a final request of the kind souls with access to records etc?
Is it possible to find a birth record of William's father? His details are as follows:-

John Lewis born 1791c in Cloddock. Herefordshire. Possibly had a brother Thomas b, 1796 if this helps? I have searched the IGI & LDS sites with no luck.

Thank you for your time.
Liz

possible baptism from IGI batch J138571 for Clodock & Longtown
John bp 13/10/1793 son of Thomas & Ann Lewis

Do you have the marriage for William's parents?

John Lewis & Ann Watkins 23/1/1821 both of Gwehelog

copy of the parish entry would give names of witnesses who may be family members.

Hi there.

Yes I  have the marriage, but only as listed from the IGI records. I do not have access to parish records unfortunately.

Many thanks for your input, Osprey & Ray.
